Ingredients
1½ cubes butter
¼ tsp. salt
1 cup sugar
½ tsp. soda
3 cup flour
1 cup crushed pineapple
1 cup nuts, chopped (optional)

Preparation
Cream butter and sugar. Add eggs and beat well. Sift flour and salt together. Dissolve soda into pineapple. Add flour and pineapple alternately to butter mixture. Add nuts. Drop on cookie sheet; bake at 350°F for 10-12 minutes. (Cookies stay light on top but should brown on bottom. Frost with vanilla frosting. Sprinkle with coconut (optional). These freeze well just put wax paper between layers.
Basic frosting is approximately 3 cups powdered sugar blended with approximately ⅓ cup (⅔ stick) softened margarine, then add milk until desired consistency usually around a ¼ cup. Then add a tsp. of your favorite vanilla.
