Oatmeal Crispies
Ingredients
1 cup shortening
1 cup granulated sugar
1 tsp. vanilla
1 tsp. salt
3 cup quick cooking oats
1 cup brown sugar
2 well-beaten eggs
1½ cup sifted flour
1 tsp. soda
Preparation
Thoroughly cream shortening and sugars; add eggs and vanilla. Beat well. Sift dry ingredients; add to creamed mixture. Add oats. Add nuts and raisins if desired. Mix well. Shape in rolls, chill thoroughly. Slice ¼ inch thick. Bake on ungreased cookie sheet in moderate oven (350°F) for 10 minutes. Makes 5 dozen.
