5 Tbs. butter (do not substitute), softened to room temperature
½ cup crunchy style peanut butter
¾ cup brown sugar
¾ cup granulated sugar
2 eggs
2 tsp. vanilla
1 cup flour
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. salt
2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips
In a large mixing bowl, combine butter, peanut butter and both sugars. Cream this mixture, then slowly beat in the eggs, one at a time and add the vanilla. Whisk together the flour, soda and salt. Beat this mixture into the peanut butter mixture. Stir in one cup of chocolate chips. Spread this batter into a shallow, ungreased, baking dish or pan (9x13 inch). Sprinkle the remaining package of chocolate chips over the top. Place in a preheated 350 oven and bake just until the top chips are melted. Then, using a spatula, spread the melting chocolate in a waving motion over the top of the batter. Return to oven and continue to bake for 28-30 minutes. Let cool and cut into squares.
