Cherry Spice Cakes

Ingredients

• 1 cup water

• 1 cup raisins

• ½ cup oil

• 1 cup sugar

• 1¾ cup flour

• 1 tsp. soda

• ½ tsp. salt

• 1 tsp. nutmeg

• 1 tsp. cinnamon

• 1 tsp. all spice

• 1 tsp. cloves

• marchino cherry halves

Preparation

Bring water and raisins to a boil.  Add oil and sugar and then cool.  Add 1 egg.  Sift together dry ingredients and spices.  Mix dry ingredients into raisin mixture.  (Add ½ cup chopped walnuts if desired).  Place batter in small muffin tins and top with a marchino cherry half.  Bake at 350°F for about ten minutes.
