Divinity

Ingredients

• 3 cup sugar

• ¾ cup water

• ¾ cup Karo syrup

• Dash of salt

• 3 egg whites

• 1 ½ tsp. vanilla

• 1 cup nuts (optional)

Preparation

Mix in saucepan sugar, water, Karo, and salt.  While this mixture is cooking to a hardball stage beat egg whites into stiff peaks.  Once hardball stage is reached pour syrup mixture into egg whites and beat until mixture will hod shape when dropped from a spoon.  Quickly add the vanilla and nuts.  Drop by teaspoon onto waxed paper.  Must be done rapidly.
